Due to the impending forecast, Garrett County Public Schools’ Sunday/Monday activities are canceled for January 16-17, 2022.  All facilities are closed during this time, including use by outside organizations.  If needed, conditions will be reevaluated Monday evening regarding operations for Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

The Allegany County Health Department has announced that its free drive-thru COVID testing clinic at the Allegany County Fairgrounds will be closed on Monday, January 17 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and due to the extreme winter weather in the forecast for the region Sunday night into Monday. Testing will resume on Wednesday, January 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to the extreme weather conditions, City of Cumberland trash collection has been suspended Monday, January 17, 2022, Residents in these areas who did not receive collection today will receive double trash pickup on their next regularly scheduled collection day: Thursday 1/20/22.  Any questions may be directed to the Public Works Department at 301-759-6620 or [email protected] or Burgmeier’s Hauling at 301-777-0416.
